2014...a year for change!

A walk along the shores of Chesapeake Bay. The bay is 200 miles long.
Christmas morning with Debbie and Charlie.
Another fabulous sunset on the Patuxent River.
Mike and Patrick on the dock, doin' a little fishing.
Catching Blue Catfish in the Patuxent River Christmas Eve 2014.
The officers dining room at Fort George, the British Fort in Niagara. Note the flag in the center does not have the red diagonal saltire which represents the cross of St Patrick of Ireland. This was added in 1801. In October Lynda and I spent a weekend in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The uniform of a British soldier dating back to 1812. This chap did a rather good demonstration of how to fire a musket. An interesting fact is that musket's fail to fire 30% of the time!
A sign of Halloween. The first pumpkin patch we have seen.
Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is North East of Orangeville. We enjoyed our afternoon here although it was busy with people doubtless there to view the fall colors.
A sad looking pine tree in McCarston' Lake in Mono Cliffs Provincial Park
This was our 2014 trip to Sault-Ste-Marie, On. Visiting French River Provincial Park, Sudbury, Agawa Canyon and Lake Superior Provincial Park (B). The trip was 857 Km one-way (equivalent distance from London to Aberdeen).
A misty afternoon at Katherine Cove, following a September storm over Lake Superior Provincial Park.
A view of Agawa Canyon. This park is only accessible by hiking or train. We took the 114 mile train ride from Sault-Ste-Marie.

The 'Big Nickel' is a replica of a 1951 Canadian Nickel. The 30 ft coin is mounted in Sudbury, Ontario and features King George VI.
Lynda standing by the rapids in French River Provincial Park. We took the short 45 minute hike during our trip to Sault-Ste-Marie.
A selfie from our 2014 camping trip in Bronte Provincial Park
It has been a few years since we visited Rattlesnake Point so we decided to take a ride there on the Labour Day weekend. We didn't quite manage the walk to Crawford Lake.
We kayaked up the Credit River from Port Credit on Lake Ontario to the QEW overpass. 500 meters past the bridge the water was too shallow to go any further.
Early August and we took a trip over to Turkey Point on Lake Erie.
We took Alfie crabbing in Brightlingsea during our 2014 summer visit to the UK.
Hannah and James looking lovely during the wedding ceremony in the garden at Warren Lodge.
We are 'Heading to the Wedding'. First a photo opportunity in front of the colonnade which joins the brick gatehouse built c.1530 with the house
A break during our walk in the woods near to Warren Lodge, Little Saxham.
We travelled back to the UK for a family wedding in July. For three nights we stayed at the wonderful 16th Century West Stow Hall
We spent our wedding anniversary with the pets.
We were visited by a young racoon whilst sitting on our deck one evening in late June.
In June we headed north to Simcoe County and paddled on the Nottawasaga River. We were heading for the Minesing Wetlands, but didn't manage to get in to the wetlands due to the concentration of mosquito's in the side channels. We enjoyed Beaver River more last year!
Sarah's Graduation in the Roy Thomson Hall, Simcoe St. Toronto, June 12, 2014. Sarah holding her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree.
A pair of Chickadees raised a family in our nest box.
Back to Pondview Place for a street party and time to catch up with our old neighbor Rob Kheir.
Could this possibly be the start of summer during June 2014. Summer or not it's nice enough to launch the kayak in to Lake Ontario. Our first paddle on one of the great lakes.
Our first spring hike at Terra Cotta conservation area in Credit Vally
Sarah is now in her final year and on the home stretch. Here in the studio completing final artworks.
2013/14 was by far the coldest and longest winter we have ever experienced. It even started to challenge our resolve! Most Canadians were done with the winter by January!
During March a group of Sarah's friends staged an art show in Toronto. The theme was based on 8"x11" artworks. The carriage clock was Sarah's contribution.
So the closure of Domino (Canada) Printing Solutions starts the year of change.

Sarah had broken or fractured something, therefore skied with a single pole!
Outside Watson's Chocolate Shop Ellicotville, NY. Jan-2014.
Lynda's interpretation of winter! Feb-2014.
What can I say, beautiful! The trees are nice as well.
I make no apologies for these snow scene pictures and the fact they are taken in Quebec again.
